Modified rosins

The gum rosins based deep processing polymers

FOREVEREST® Modified Rosins are modified based on the conjugated double bonds of Abietic acid type-Resin acids. In the tricyclic structure of resin acids, there are two double bonds and a carboxyl group. The conjugated double bonds in this structure cause rosin to oxidize and tarnish easily, and the thermal stability is difficult to control. By modifying through maleation, hydrogenation, disproportionation, and polymerization, the acidic compounds can be separated from Abietic acid type-Resin acids, thereby improving oxidation resistance, crystallinity, and thermal stability. After modification, rosin exhibits excellent performance in the production of rosin resin and its specialized applications in the adhesive, coating, and paint industries.
