乙酸松油酯自然存在于多种精油中，如柏木油、松针油、白千层油、小豆蔻油等。呈无色至微黄色液体，伴有柠檬香、薰衣草香。工业上由硫酸催化，在略高于室温的条件下使用醋酸酐对松油醇进行乙酰化制得。
