TURPENTINE BASED

FOREVEREST® Turpentine Derivatives are our core range of pine chemicals, extracted and fine distilled from pinus, then synthesize derivatives from gum turpentine. This range was widely used for cleaning, solvent based products, electronics, flotation and FF industry.

Turpentine Derivatives

Turpentine can be divided into gum turpentine, wood turpentine and sulphate turpentine in the light of sources of raw materials.

Gum turpentine is extracted from pine resin by distillation. It contains large amount of alpha-pinene and beta pinene while small amount of CampheneDipentene, and Terpinolene.

Sulphate turpentine is obtained from pulp manufacturing process. It contains small amount of alpha-pinene while large amount of 3Carene.

Turpentine is colorless to pale yellow oily liquid containing various terpenes. The presence of double bonds and rings in the terpenes enables multiple reactions.

As a natural and renewable resource, turpentine fits perfectly with the trend of green, low carbon and sustainable development.

The structural similarities between pinenes and natural F&F ingredients give turpentine the atom and step economy that petroleum materials always lack.

Comphene can be produced by the isomerization of turpentine. It is the raw material of synthetic camphor and sandalwood. In addition, Isobornyl acetate is obtained by esterification of comphene acetic acid glacial.

Pinonic acid and pinic acid are the products of turpentine oxidation reaction. They are used in manufacturing of plasticizers, lubricants, synthetic resin and chemical additives, etc.

Through the pyrolysis and hydrogenation of turpentine, the factory can get ocimene, myrcene, geraniol and dihydroterpineol, terpinyl dihydroacetate respectively. These products are widely applied in fragrance formulation.

Terpine hydrate is obtained from the addition reaction of turpentine. It is used as cough medicine in pharmaceutical industry. Moreover, the polymerization of turpentine can produce diterpenes.

The esterification of turpentine generates camphol that is used in medicine and cosmetic industry.

P-Cymene is produced by the dehydrogenation of turpentine. It is the raw material of synthetic resin and fiber.
